Robotics for Everyone Presented at SFF Conference in 2022
July 25, 2022
Four high schoolers, the youngest presenters at the SFF conference, published a collaborative paper on the impacts of solid freeform fabrication (i.e. 3D Printing) on competitive robotics. The project found that competitive robotics tends to be overly expensive, and proposed a solution utilizing a system of kits available for 3D Printing, the beginnings of the Robotics for Everyone initiative.
The paper was accepted, and at the conference, the team was commended for their hard work. The idea was well-received, and they were able to grow many connections. We've additionally presented at SFF 2023 and 2024, both based on Robotics for Everyone. 2023's paper was an expansion on the R4E idea, and 2024 was on the utilization of solid freeform fabrication in Cube Satellite innovation, inspired by MIT BWSI's competition.
